Party Time!
It was Teagan's first birthday on Wednesday and it will be Keeley's fourth birthday on St. Patrick's Day. Yesterday we had a little birthday party for the two of them.
It was just a small get together this year with just 3 doggie guests: Romare, Arnie, and LoJack.
It's been rainy and warm so there's lots of mud and wetness from all the snow that has melted. The yard is looking pretty bad.
LoJack came all dressed up as usual. She always has a fabulous outfit for parties.
If you're wondering why there are no pictures of Teagan, well that's because she couldn't control herself and kept growling and snapping at Arnie and Romare. After making her "get easy" four times, she got banished to her crate for a time out. And when she did return to the party, she attacked Romare again and that's when PK took over. Teagan is a very stubborn little girl and even though she got into the easy position she really wasn't easy because her legs and tail were rigid and her eyes were crazy alert. She stayed like that for over 2 hours never surrendering completely. So all Teagan's drama was a real buzz kill.
Romare and Arnie didn't want to be anywhere near her and they spent a good chunk of the party out on the balcony watching the neighborhood kids.
Keeley and Lojack seemed happy with all the attention they got since they were the only 2 dogs hanging with the people at the party. Keeley ate way too much pizza, cake, chips, cookies, and cheesy biscuts. I'm surprised that he didn't get sick!
Hopefully, Teagan can get over her issues by next year.

Party Time!
Keeley's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day but since that is a Tuesday this year, we had his birthday party today. Here's Keeley waiting patiently for his guests to arrive.
Keeley's best bud, Romare, came down from Madison to be here for the party.
He brought his pal, Arnie, too.
Keeley was so thrilled to have his neighbor dogs over in his yard. This is River.
And this is Abby. Keeley loves them! We've got really great neighbors.
Keeley's pal, Oliver, was here too.
And Keeley finally got to meet his first DWB live in the fur! Kirby came up from Chicago just for the party. They got along great together!
The one and only, Tara Tru, was in attendance also.
Here's a photo of some of our decorations. Notice the Irish Terriers on the plates and napkins.
When the humans had cake, the dogs each got a doggie cookie. And each doggie guest also got a couple of cookies to take home for later. One cookie was a cheesy bone and the other was a slice of doggie pizza.
There were also human guests at the party, though less than in years past. This year the human party goers were: Christopher, Mark, Bao, Chou, Susan, Kristin, Rebecca, Kara, Rob, Keeley's grandma, and myself.
Here's Keeley and Romare getting into some bitey-face action.
Keeley usually sleeps all day long. Here he's looking like he's about to fall asleep right in the middle of his party! What a goof!
Kirby and Arnie played a little bitey-face too.
Bitey-face was the name of the game. Here's Kirby and Oliver getting into it. Oliver usually doesn't like this game but he was really lively today.
Including Keeley, there were 8 dogs total. That's the most dogs that Keeley's ever had over all at one time!
After all the guest left, here's Keeley posing with all his loot.
He got a cute elephant stuffie and green tennis ball from Romare. Tara gave Keeley a Hol-ee Roller, and some liver treats. (She also gave me an Irish Terrier decal for the car, and an Irish Terrier purse... and it wasn't even my birthday!) And from Kirby, Keeley got this really cool weird purple puppet thingy, a bag of Grandma Lucy honey treats, and a bunch of delicious looking irish themed doggie cookies. Keeley's grandma also got him some shamrock doggie cookies and a cool "Bark Knight" card.
Keeley is such a lucky birthday boy. He had a great party. As soon as the last guest left, Keeley went right to sleep. He's still sleeping it off now as I blog.

bad day birthday and lots of love from DWBs
Today was Keeley's birthday and he had a really bad day. He was supposed to go to doggie daycare but I decided to keep him home to rest his leg. He was bummed about that since he loves daycare.
Then when I got home, I discovered that Keeley had gotten diarrhea during the day and there was gross poop all over his pantry. I could tell that he was so ashamed of himself because he was curled up in a corner trying to stay as far away from it as possible. I told him that it was okay and that he couldn't help it that his tummy was upset. But he still didn't want to make eye contact with me and just followed me around with his tail between his legs while I cleaned everything up.
Just when I was almost done with that then he threw up a few times in the stairway. I told him it was okay and tried to clean that up too but must have done an unsatisfactory job of it because Keeley's grandma had to clean it again when she got home.
Then to top it all off, I told him that he couldn't have dinner since his tummy obviously needs a rest. So now he's doing his starving dog routine. Poor baby Keeley. He's had such a horrible day.
On a much more pawsitive note, Keeley has received lots of wonderful birthday wishes from his DWB pals. Here are a few that he got via e-mail:

Keeley also got a sweet email from Lenny but I couldn't figure out how to get it to display right here so I'm just posting the part with the cute picture of Lenny:
Keeley says thanks for all the wonderful birthday wishes!
Oh yeah, we sent out some homemade doggie treats to many of Keeley's DWB pals that we knew the addresses of. We wish we could have sent some to everydog but priority mail is expensive and we didn't think that the treats would make it to our overseas pals. We hope the dogs that got them like them and we're very sorry if we missed you.

Birthday Wishes
"Happy Birthday Keeley! You are such a wonderful guy! You have such a playful and loving spirit and we all love you very much! I hope you have a great day! - Molly"
"Dear Keeley- Happy Birthday! We know you've already found the meaning of life - family, friendship, good food, fun times, and the watchful, protective eye of an Airedale pal. Thanks for bringing so much joy to so many people. Love, Jane."
Keeley's 2nd Birthday Party!
Today was Keeley's birthday party. He will be 2 years old on Monday, St. Patrick's Day.
I was so thrilled to find decorations that featured an Irish Terrier!
Gracie, a 4 month old cockapoo, was the first doggie guest to arrive.
Keeley's cousin dog, Tully, was the next dog to arrive. When they're together, they just can't seem to hold still.
Keeley's best bud, Romare, made the trip from Madison to help celebrate.
Lojack was the last doggie guest to arrive and certainly the most well-dressed of all the dogs.
The big dogs spent a lot of time romping outside...
...while the little dogs explored indoors.
There were human guests too, including this cutie-pie, Tristan, who will have his 2nd Birthday next week. He was born one week after Keeley.
Other human guest included: Keeley's grandpa, Marky-Mark, Amy, Damien, Helen, Christopher, Gary, Kaity, Mr. Goodkind, Sandy, PK, Jane, Kate, and of course, Keeley's grandma and me, his girl.
Keeley would have been happy with just ONE visitor, so he was thrilled that so many of his favorite people came to celebrate his birthday.
Keeley is a very social pup. If it were up to him, he'd have a party every weekend!
Gracie found a lot of toys to play with. She had quite a pile going.
There were even a few surprise gifts for Keeley to open. He got a green squeaky bone and a paw print magnet from Jane, Kate, and Molly. He received a z-bone and a barbecue flavored biscuit bone from Mr. Goodkind and Sandy. He got a cute elephant stuffie from Christopher, Gary, and Romare. He also received a gift card to Petco from Lojack and PK. Keeley sure is a lucky pup!
Romare helped inspect all Keeley's presents for quality.
Keeley's grandpa baked special doggie treats for Keeley's canine guests to take home.
When all the party guests had left, Keeley found a nice sunny spot to sit and eat his z-bone. Minutes later, he was sound asleep. I guess that means he had a good time!
NOTE: Kirby was supposed to come, but his mother was so sick that they had to cancel. We hope your mom feels better soon, Kirby! Maybe we can make plans for you and Keeley to meet up some other weekend.
