Can you believe it was 64 degrees last weekend, and now this! 26 degrees but with a windchill feels-like reading of 13 degrees! That's cold! Good thing Teagan loves winter! Here are some pics of her at the dog park this morning. I made her wear a sweater because it was so cold, but she wasn't happy about it. She hates wearing clothes, but she looks so cute!
First some roaching. This wool sweater is a little itchy!
This is how we walk: Erin leads the way; Teagan follows; and The Dad brings up the rear.
Teagan: "It sorta seems like this guy wants to play with me... what should I do?"
Teagan: "I know - I'll chase him away from my people!"
Today we went to Lapham Peak with Rob and Mom. The first thing we always do is climb the tower. The pups were crazy insane because there were chipmunks all over the place! Rob had his work cut out for him trying to hold Teagan back. Keeley is a bit more reasonable about these things. We walked all over the place and the dogs lived it. It was sunny and humid. The dogs drank a gallon of water on our walk! Rob has decided that Teagan is going to be his dog. I'm not cool with that but it is good for her to have a fan, since everyone else always favors Keeley. I'm rarely in pictures because I'm usually the one taking them, but Mom had her camera too and she took this one of me and Rob and the pups. Every now and then I get worried that Teagan is going to give herself a doggy-heart-attack with all the pulling she does. Sometimes Rob has to force her to take a time-out and catch her breath. She hates these time-outs though. I had a bad dream the other night that Teagan ran away from home to join the sled dog circuit because she loves to pull so much. We walked for about 90 minutes and at the end the pups were completely exhausted! They've been sleeping ever since we got home. Now that's a good walk!
I was watching movie trailers and I came across this one with a wire fox terrier in it! The Ewan McGregor character talks to his dog and there are subtitles for what the dog says since he can't talk. I love that because I have big long conversations with Keeley all the time and I always tell people that he speaks with his eyes. Anyways, I thought it was worth mentioning.
Today we drove up to Lapham Peak with Rob. Keeley and Teagan love going on adventures. They were so excited, they couldn't even hold still for a picture. They wanted to get our walk started right away! This year Keeley made it all the way to the top of the observation tower. If you remember, last year he was afraid to go up very high. The view is great up here! We got started on the Ice Age Trail. Now that we're having a spell of warm weather, all the squirrels are active again. Teagan is determined to catch a squirrel to impress Keeley, but so far she hasn't had much luck. It was a really nice day but the sun didn't break through the clouds until later in the day. Keeley and Teagan got to meet a couple other dogs that were hiking at Lapham too. Meeting other dogs on walkies is the best! We switched trails a couple of times and ended up on this nice paved one that they just call the Accessible Trail. Then after a while we decided to follow the signed back to the tower where we had parked the car. Now that the dogs were tired, they were able to pose nicely for a picture with their Unkie Rob. It was a nice little outing.
I had been deathly afraid of dogs my entire life right up until when I got Keeley. He cured me and made me into a dog person. I can't imagine life without him now.
