Bark For Barack
Today was the Bark For Barack dog walk for dogs to raise money for Obama.
We met up with the other Democrat dogs at the start of the walk at the Bradford Beach Pavilion. There was a pretty good turn out.
Some dogs had signs that read "POOP FOR PALIN". And some were dressed like bees because they said "B for Barack!"
Here's Keeley "paling around" with a fellow terrier.
The walk route was marked by these Barack Obama heads.
We decided for Keeley to not wear his Democrat donkey shirt because we couldn't figure out what to do with his harness without obstructing the shirt. Instead Keeley's grandma made him a "Dogs for Obama" bandana. And of course, he also go a "Bark for Barack" bandana for participating today too.
Keeley did really good on the walk! We walked up North Avenue and then up Oakland and then turned on Newberry and then down Downer Avenue to end at the Obama Headquarters.
We found that he likes to be the leader of a pack.
Sometimes, he was so far out in front that it looked like he was walking alone.
Cars driving by would honk at us and the people would stick their heads out the windows and cheer. A kid was chanting "BARK FOR BARACK! ARF!"
It was cold this morning but by noon, the weather had turned nice. What a great day for a dog walk!

Keeley has bunny on the brain

The bunny was desperate and so it decided to try to squeeze itself through one of the links. This was a very bad decision. It was able to get half its body through but not its bottom half. The bunny was so very stuck. While it was trying desperately to squeeze through to get away, Keeley was desperately trying to pull it back into the yard to have some more fun chasing it.
Every time Keeley would bite the bunny's butt, it would let out these horrible screams. It was really awful and I felt terrible for the bunny. I couldn't take it anymore so I carried Keeley out of the yard.
I had to wake up Keeley's grandma to help me. She tried to free the stuck bunny but it was REALLY stuck. Finally we gave up and left it there in the hope that once it knew Keeley was gone, that it would unstick itself.
It wasn't there when we woke up this morning so either it was able to unstick itself or something else came along and ate it.
Keeley has had bunny on the brain ever since. He keeps wanting to go out to the the yard to look for the bunny.

Dogs for Obama
Keeley and I were on our normal weekend morning walk at Lake Park today and we caught wind of some kind of dog walk to support Obama. When we got over to the area where a bunch of dogs play off leash, the dog people asked us if we were going to attend it. I said we would but so far don't know any details about it. Well, that's all it took. Seconds later they had given me a flier all about it. (See Below)
(click the image to enlarge) It's called BARK FOR BARACK! And it's next Saturday at noon here in Milwaukee. We think it sounds like it's going to be a really fun event and so we're spreading the word to all the dog people we know.
The flier also said to have fun dressing up your dogs for the walk. So today we went to Metropawlis to find Keeley some Obama garb. Kirby told us in Chicago there's dog gear for sale that says "I love Obama" and so we were hoping to find something like that. We had no luck with that but we did find a democrat donkey shirt for Keeley. It looks good on him so it will do just fine.
Boy, until I saw this picture, I didn't realize how badly Keeley needs to get groomed! He's looking mighty scruffy!
On a related topic, back in August we reported about how the AKC set up a poll to vote for what breed dog would be best for the Obamas after the election. Well, we heard that the standard poodle won but that Michelle Obama announced on TV this past week that they've decided to adopt a dog instead of buying a purebred.
